The Welland Canal connects Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. Essentially it is the alternate to the Niagara River. This is a view from a bridge over the canal looking south out to Lake Erie. More accurately it shows the break water at the mouth of the harbor.
A view from the bridge looking north up the canal at Port Colbourne.
The mouth of the Welland canal coming into Lake Erie.
For much of the day on July 5 we were blessed to ride along the shore of Lake Erie not more than a couple of first downs from the lake. It made for a pleasant ride on a very hot and humid day.
