Tom and Katie in front of the house of the real "Uncle Tom" This was a very interesting stop along our way in Dresden Ontario. Short story - the inspiration of Harriet Beecher Stowe's "Uncle Tom's Cabin." Josiah Henson's memoirs were the main source for Ms Stowe.

The story of the Dawn Settlement is uplifting and a model from which we can all learn. The basic notion is that if we want change we need to be and make the change and not wait for someone else to do it.
