Fairport NY was the most bustling town along the stretch of the canal that we rode. This is a picture of boats moored along the canal in downtown Fairport.

An up close and personal look at a lock along the canal. The water behind where I took the picture was about 10 feet lower than the level of this water. The number of locks along the canal was something that I did not anticipate.
